2006 Pokémon Card Values & Price Guide
2006 brought the last four sets of the EX era, and most of the year belonged to the Delta Species storyline. By EX Dragon Frontiers, δ Pokémon were the rule rather than the exception.

The 2006 English sets
- EX Legend Maker (February 13, 2006)
- EX Holon Phantoms (May 3, 2006)
- EX Crystal Guardians (August 30, 2006)
- EX Dragon Frontiers (November 8, 2006), the fourth and final set of the Delta Species sub-series. Only four of its Pokémon cards are not δ.
POP Series 3, a small promotional set handed out through Pokémon Organized Play, also appears in this guide; its Pichu Bros. card (#16) is one of the more valuable 2006 cards in our index.
Why Dragon Frontiers stands out
Dragon Frontiers is set on an isolated island chain where δ Pokémon are the norm, which makes it the most concentrated δ checklist of the era. It also supplies the top of our 2006 values: Snorlax (#10) and Ninetales (#8). Ninetales is also the most scanned 2006 card in TCG Value Scanner.
Telling 2006 printings apart
- Look for "δ Delta Species" under the name. A δ Pokémon is a separate printing from its ordinary version.
- Use the set symbol and number. Legend Maker, Holon Phantoms, Crystal Guardians and Dragon Frontiers share the EX-era layout, so the symbol beside the number is what separates them.
- Check the language. Japanese Holon sets are listed here too: Holon Phantom's Latias (#10) is one of the more valuable Japanese cards from the year.
Below Dragon Frontiers, Crystal Guardians contributes most of the mid-range values in this guide, among them Squirtle (#63), Charmeleon (#30) and Groudon (#93).
The δ story begins in 2005 with EX Delta Species; the next year, 2007, the EX era ended and Diamond & Pearl began.
