2019 Pokémon Card Values & Price Guide
2019 was the last Sun & Moon year in English: TAG TEAM cards arrived in February, Hidden Fates added a vault of shiny Pokémon in August, and Cosmic Eclipse closed the era in November. Hidden Fates is the 2019 set people scan most, led by its regular Charizard-GX.

TAG TEAM, then the vault
Team Up (February 1, 2019) brought TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX to English players: two Pokémon sharing one card, such as Pikachu & Zekrom-GX or Eevee & Snorlax-GX. Unbroken Bonds and Unified Minds followed in May and August, and Cosmic Eclipse (November 1, 2019) was the twelfth and final Sun & Moon expansion.
Hidden Fates (August 23, 2019) is a special set with two parts. The main set is numbered out of 68; the Shiny Vault adds 94 shiny cards numbered SV1 to SV94. That prefix is the whole story for valuing a Hidden Fates card:
- A plain number, like 9/68, is a main-set card. Charizard-GX #9 is the regular, non-shiny card and the 2019 card scanned most in TCG Value Scanner.
- An SV number is a Shiny Vault card. Espeon-GX SV60 and Umbreon-GX SV69 are among the most valuable 2019 cards in this guide.
A shiny black Charizard-GX exists in the Shiny Vault too. It is a different card from #9, so check the corner for "SV" before trusting a value.
A movie set and the promos
- Detective Pikachu (March 29, 2019) is an 18-card special set made for the live-action film, with 3D artwork of the movie's Pokémon. Charmander 4/18 is the second most scanned 2019 card, and Charizard is 5/18.
- SM Black Star Promos carry an SM prefix instead of a set total. Mewtwo & Mew-GX SM191, a TAG TEAM promo, holds the highest 2019 value here, ahead of Pikachu & Zekrom-GX SM168.
Japanese cards and the next era
The Japanese 2019 cards in this guide include Tag Team GX All Stars, whose two Umbreon & Darkrai-GX cards (#181 and #215) are both valued highly, and the first Japanese Sword and Shield sets from the end of the year. English Sword & Shield began in 2020; the Sun & Moon era is also covered in 2017 and 2018.
