2022 Pokémon Card Values & Price Guide
The English sets of 2022 brought Pokémon VSTAR, Radiant Pokémon and the Trainer Gallery, but the 2022 cards people scan most are Japanese. Nearly 30% of 2022 scans in TCG Value Scanner match one Japanese high-class set, VSTAR Universe, and its Charizard V is the year's most scanned card.

The English sets of 2022
- Brilliant Stars (February 25) introduced Pokémon VSTAR and the Trainer Gallery, a subset of 30 cards numbered TG01 to TG30.
- Astral Radiance (May 27) introduced Radiant Pokémon: shiny Basic Pokémon limited to one per deck.
- Pokémon GO, a special set tied to the mobile game, came out in the summer.
- Lost Origin (September 9) brought back cards that use the Lost Zone.
- Silver Tempest (November 11) closed the year with more Radiant Pokémon and VSTAR cards. Its Serperior #8 is one of the three 2022 cards scanned most in the app.
Trainer Gallery and other numbers to read carefully
From Brilliant Stars on, each main set carried a Trainer Gallery: cards that show a Pokémon together with its trainer, numbered with a TG prefix instead of the set's main numbers. Umbreon TG23 from Brilliant Stars is one of the more valuable 2022 cards here. A TG card is a different printing from the main-set card of the same Pokémon, even when the name is identical.
The same goes for the VSTAR family. A Pokémon V, its VSTAR and its full-art or alternate-art versions are separate cards; the suffix after the name and a number above the set's printed total are the two things to check.
Japan's VSTAR Universe
VSTAR Universe, released in Japan on December 2, 2022, is a high-class set with a 172-card main list. Everything numbered above 172 is a secret rare, and the most valuable VSTAR Universe cards in this guide sit there: Giratina VSTAR #261 and Arceus VSTAR #262. Charizard V #13 from the main list is the most scanned 2022 card, and a Charizard V from another Japanese set, Star Birth, is joint second.
The single most valuable 2022 card here is also Japanese: the Giratina V from Lost Abyss, released in Japan in July 2022, ahead of its English counterpart in Lost Origin. Japanese and English printings of the same Pokémon carry different numbers and are valued separately, so check the language before comparing.
Sword & Shield continued from 2021; Scarlet & Violet replaced it in 2023.
