2011 Pokémon Card Values & Price Guide
In 2011 the English game moved from Johto to Unova. Call of Legends closed the HeartGold & SoulSilver series in February, and Black & White opened the fifth generation in April with the first Full Art cards — the two cards people scan most from this year.

Full Art begins with Reshiram and Zekrom
Black & White (April 25, 2011; 115 cards) introduced Full Art cards, with the artwork and the foil running over the whole card instead of sitting in a frame. The first two were the set's mascots, Reshiram at 113/114 and Zekrom at 114/114, and they are the two 2011 cards scanned most in TCG Value Scanner. They also hold the top 2011 values in this guide.
Both Pokémon have ordinary cards in the same set too. A Reshiram or Zekrom with a framed picture is a regular holo or a non-holo, not the Full Art; the number and the full-bleed art settle it.
Emerging Powers (August 31, 2011) repeated the idea with two Full Art legendaries, Thundurus at 97/98 and Tornadus at 98/98. Each also appears in the set as a regular card, numbered 35 and 89, with the same artist credited on both. Our Thundurus #97 is the Full Art.
Call of Legends and its shiny legendaries
Call of Legends (February 9, 2011) was the last HeartGold & SoulSilver set. Its 95-card main set is followed by eleven shiny legendary Pokémon numbered SL1 to SL11, outside the regular numbering. A Call of Legends card with an "SL" number is one of those eleven. Groudon #6, Lucario #14 and Palkia #19 from the main set are in this guide.
Noble Victories and the rest of the year
Noble Victories (November 16, 2011) is built around Victini and closed the year. Like the other Black & White sets, most of its cards also exist as reverse holos, so check the finish as well as the number.
The Japanese 2011 cards here come from sets such as Hail Blizzard and Red Collection. Japan ran several months ahead of the English schedule — its first Black & White sets came out in December 2010 — so a Japanese card and its English counterpart can carry different years as well as different numbers.
The HeartGold & SoulSilver series began in 2010; Pokémon-EX and the Dragon type arrived in 2012.
