2005 Pokémon Card Values & Price Guide
2005 sits in the middle of the EX era, and its last set bent the rules on types: EX Delta Species introduced δ Pokémon, familiar species printed with unfamiliar types. Delta Species cards also hold the top of our 2005 values.
What this guide includes
This guide currently covers 101 indexed card records across 7 sets and the 2005 release year. The displayed estimate range is $0.27–$27,000. It reflects records available in TCG Value Scanner, not a complete manufacturer checklist.
Values are directional estimates rather than guaranteed sale prices. Read how estimates and scan ranges are produced.

Four English sets
- EX Deoxys (February 14, 2005), home of the Jirachi (#9) that sits among the year's most valuable cards here.
- EX Emerald (May 9, 2005).
- EX Unseen Forces (August 22, 2005), notable for its Unown subset: a separate card for every letter of the alphabet, plus ! and ?.
- EX Delta Species (October 31, 2005): 114 cards including one secret rare, and the first set with δ Delta Species Pokémon. Its three Pokémon-ex, Flareon, Jolteon and Vaporeon, are numbered 108 to 110.
What δ means on a card
Delta Species Pokémon carry "δ Delta Species" between the name and the HP. In the set's story they were reshaped by an experiment at the Holon Research Tower, so they have types their species normally lacks: Tyranitar δ is Metal and Fire rather than its usual Darkness or Fighting. A δ card and the regular card of the same Pokémon are different printings with different values, so look for the symbol before comparing prices.
The Unown alphabet
Unseen Forces printed Unown as letters, and each letter is its own card with its own value. They are among the cards people scan most: Unown V is the most scanned 2005 card in TCG Value Scanner. If you have one, read the letter in its name before looking up a value; the Unown guide lists every letter we track.
What drives value
At the time of writing, in October 2026, Delta Species leads our 2005 values: Metagross, Umbreon, Jolteon and Latios sit at the top, and EX Deoxys' Jirachi is the only card from another set close to them. These cards were played hard in their day, and the EX-era holo foil scratches easily, so condition explains most of the difference between two copies of the same card.
The EX era continues in 2004, before this year, and in 2006, when the δ storyline reached its end.
