2024 Pokémon Card Values & Price Guide
The 2024 card scanned most in TCG Value Scanner is not a Pokémon ex but a Gastly: Temporal Forces 177/162, an Illustration Rare. That says a lot about Scarlet & Violet collecting — the art cards numbered above each set's total are where both the attention and the value sit.
What this guide includes
This guide currently covers 662 indexed card records across 14 sets and the 2024 release year. The displayed estimate range is $0.02–$3,617. It reflects records available in TCG Value Scanner, not a complete manufacturer checklist.
Values are directional estimates rather than guaranteed sale prices. Read how estimates and scan ranges are produced.

Six English sets
- Paldean Fates (January 26), a special set built around shiny Pokémon.
- Temporal Forces (March 22) brought back ACE SPEC cards, now with a magenta design, limited to one per deck.
- Twilight Masquerade (May 24). Its Greninja ex 214/167 holds the highest 2024 value in this guide.
- Shrouded Fable (August 2), a smaller special set.
- Stellar Crown (September 13). Its Squirtle 148/142 and Bulbasaur 143/142 are among the set's best-known cards.
- Surging Sparks (November 8), the 2024 set scanned most in the app, with Latias ex 239/191 and Milotic ex 237/191 among its most valuable cards here.
One star or two
In Scarlet & Violet sets, the rarest cards sit above the printed total, and the rarity symbol in the lower left corner tells you which kind you have:
- One gold star: Illustration Rare. A full-art card showing an ordinary Pokémon in a scene — Gastly 177/162 and Squirtle 148/142 from this guide are both of this kind. They are often reprints of the set's common or uncommon cards with new artwork.
- Two gold stars: Special Illustration Rare. Alternative artwork for a Pokémon ex or a Supporter, with an extra layer of textured foil. Greninja ex 214/167 and Latias ex 239/191 are Special Illustration Rares.
The same Pokémon usually exists in the main numbering too. A Gastly numbered below 162 in Temporal Forces is the ordinary card; only 177/162 is the Illustration Rare. Read the number and the stars together before you look up a value.
Promos and Japanese cards
Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promos have their own numbering, and Mimikyu #75 from that series is the second most scanned 2024 card here. The Japanese 2024 sets in this guide — Night Wanderer, Wild Force, Crimson Haze and others — came out before their English counterparts and have their own numbers, so a Japanese card is never valued as its English twin.
Scarlet & Violet began in 2023; the era closed in 2025, when Mega Evolution took over.
