2010 Pokémon Card Values & Price Guide
2010 was the HeartGold & SoulSilver year: four English sets, the arrival of Pokémon Prime, and the most unusual card format the game has used, a Pokémon LEGEND printed in two halves. In Japan, the year ended with the first Black & White cards.

The four HeartGold & SoulSilver sets
- HeartGold & SoulSilver (February 10, 2010) opened the series and introduced Pokémon Prime and Pokémon LEGEND.
- Unleashed (May 12, 2010). Its Vulpix #68 is the 2010 card scanned most in TCG Value Scanner.
- Undaunted (August 18, 2010). Umbreon #10 from this set holds the highest 2010 value in this guide.
- Triumphant (November 3, 2010) closed the year; Call of Legends, the last set of the series, followed in early 2011.
LEGEND cards come in halves
A Pokémon LEGEND is one Pokémon printed across two cards: a top half and a bottom half, each with its own number. In the first set, Lugia LEGEND is 113/123 (upper half) and 114/123 (lower half). In play the two halves count as one card, but as collectibles they are two separate cards, and each half is valued on its own.
That matters when you scan one. A single half is a complete card in its own right, not a damaged or partial one, and if you own both halves, look each one up by its own number.
Prime and the regular holos
Pokémon Prime cards carry the word "Prime" after the name and a distinctive foil treatment, and they sit near the back of each set's numbering with the other rare cards. A Prime card and an ordinary card of the same Pokémon are different printings, so match the word "Prime" as well as the name when you look up a value.
Basic Energy cards turn up surprisingly often in the 2010 scans: Water Energy #117 from the first HeartGold & SoulSilver set is the third most scanned card of the year. Like any card, it is identified by the set symbol and number in the corner.
Japanese cards of 2010
The Japanese sets in this guide, such as Clash at the Summit and Lost Link, belong to the same Legend era; Drapion #52 from Clash at the Summit is the second most scanned 2010 card. The Japanese Black Collection and White Collection, released on December 17, 2010, brought the fifth generation into the card game; the English Black & White set followed in 2011.
The Platinum era ended the year before, in 2009.
