2018 Pokémon Card Values & Price Guide
2018 was the middle of the Sun & Moon era: four main English sets, the special set Dragon Majesty, and a new kind of card marked with a diamond, the Prism Star. The most valuable 2018 cards in this guide are Japanese, led by the shiny Charizard-GX from GX Ultra Shiny.

The English sets of 2018
- Ultra Prism (February 2, 2018) introduced Prism Star cards.
- Forbidden Light (May 4, 2018) is the 2018 set scanned most in TCG Value Scanner, and its Exeggcute #1 is the single most scanned 2018 card.
- Celestial Storm (August 3, 2018).
- Dragon Majesty (September 7, 2018), a special set built around Dragon-type Pokémon. Its Victini ◇ is card 7 of 70.
- Lost Thunder (November 2, 2018), with 214 numbered cards and 22 secret rares, was the largest set the game had printed at the time.
Reading a Prism Star card
A Prism Star card has a ◇ symbol after its name, and the rules allow only one copy of each in a deck. The symbol is what identifies the card: a Prism Star Victini and an ordinary Victini are different cards with different values, even when they come from the same year.
The other markers of the era still apply. A "GX" after the name means a Pokémon-GX, and a number higher than the set's printed total — say 220/214 in Lost Thunder — means a secret rare, which in this era usually means a Rainbow Rare or a gold card.
The Japanese cards lead the values
- GX Ultra Shiny. This Japanese high-class set came out on November 2, 2018, and its shiny Charizard-GX, numbered 209/150, holds the highest 2018 value in this guide. Numbers above 150 mark the set's extra rare cards, the shiny ones among them.
- Tag Bolt. Released in Japan on December 7, 2018, it was the first set with TAG TEAM Pokémon-GX, two Pokémon on one card. Gengar & Mimikyu-GX and Eevee & Snorlax-GX from Tag Bolt are among the most valuable 2018 cards here. English players got TAG TEAM cards only in 2019, in Team Up, so an English TAG TEAM card belongs to the 2019 guide, not this one.
Japanese and English versions of the same card are separate printings with their own numbering. Before comparing values, check the language and the number together.
Sun & Moon began in 2017; the era ended with Cosmic Eclipse in 2019.
